Our Philosophy

Agency-promoting

You’re in the driver’s seat.

We empower clients to take charge of their own recovery. By sharing knowledge, skills and tools, our team gives you the power to better understand yourself and make active decisions that bring you closer to your goals.

Depth-oriented

Lasting change requires deep understanding.

We believe that change is built on strong foundations. This means creating a deep understanding of each client’s history and behavior, including models of themselves and others.

Data-driven

Recovery is measurable.

We leverage rich, multi-dimensional information to measure, clarify, and deepen our understanding of where clients are today and track change over time.

Developed and led by world-class mental health experts

Our team is comprised of experts and thought leaders from multiple disciplines. Together, we’ve developed programs that incorporate “best of the best” approaches to mental health and substance use.

Mentalization-Based Therapy
(MBT)

Mentalization is the ability to understand your own thoughts and feelings, as well as the thoughts and feelings of others. MBT focuses on how your mental states influence your own and others’ behavior, focusing on present, rather than past, experiences.

    • Enhance your ability to reflect on your own thoughts, feelings, and behavior under stress

    • Better understand others’ intentions by modeling their thoughts, feelings, and behavior more explicitly

    • Manage stressful interactions more adeptly

Dialectical Behavior Therapy
(DBT)

DBT can help you manage emotions and get a better handle on life’s ups and downs. This treatment provides clients with mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills, all tools to help you cope with difficult situations and improve relationships.

    • Be fully aware and present in the moment

    • Build tolerance for emotional distress

    • Ask for what you want and say no while maintaining self-respect and building healthy relationships with others

    • Manage emotions and decrease emotional reactivity as you work to build a life worth living

Good Psychiatric Management (GPM)

GPM focuses on practical problem solving, education, and realistic goal-setting to build a life worth living. Special focus is given to hypersensitivity in relationships with others and fluctuations in self esteem.

    • Set and maintain accountability towards realistic life goals that build self esteem and reduce volatility and anxiety

    • Identify patterns in relationships and learn how these dynamics impact your mood and function

    • Identify triggers and patterns that cause fluctuations in self esteem to improve perfectionism and performance anxiety

Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy (IHRP)

IHRP clarifies the roles and meanings that substances play in your life to better understand your current pattern of use and make desired positive changes. IHRP combines psychoanalysis with specific skills for changing habits, such as mindfulness, urge surfing and working with internal and external triggers.

    • Build a set of practical strategies to address personal and lifestyle issues and goals

    • Motivate gradual behavioral changes that align with goals

    • Reduce negative health and social consequences of substance use
